In progress photos - Japanese flower scarf

I''m doing a big "tidy up today" and thought I'd also add some in-progress photos.  The crocheting is quite easy -- it is the "sitting still" and doing it that is the issue :)  (Debbie Bliss Andes yarn)

I'm leaving the "ends" out for the moment; I already had to unpick a couple at the beginning when I fastened them wrong on the last "join together" row.  I don't mind -- it is therapeutic to sew them in when you are in a place where you can't knit or read a chart, but still can converse!

Sometimes it's not so easy to post something, and I do not like to comment only negative things ...
past friday my bloodtest were not good, very low white bloodcells...so they said, when you get cold or a little bit of fever..you have to come and stay in the hospital...but my body is stronger than I thought...I'm still at home .....next friday again bloodtests, and when they are good...5th of September my 3th chemo will start....so here a little bit of pictures of the last week I crochet (even in my bed)

Second African Flower Blanket started

You might recall awhile back I showed off my very first African Flower blanket. It was a joy to make and the possibilities with the flower colors were endless and so much fun. When you have a ton of scrap yarns at your disposal you can't wait to make flowers all day long, in fact, it is all you think about and a great escape from everyday problems and worries. My first blanket was so much fun I knew a second one would be in the near future.

 This next one is going to be a bit different though. Where the first blanket had each individual flower bordered with a sage green color and motifs were hand stitched together, with this second one I decided to do the join-as-you go method to use up more of my yarn stash and to make this a faster project. I do think it is going to be lovely and much more colorful. And guess what????? I am extra thrilled because this second one is SOLD already and to be a Christmas present for a special lady. I don"t make them all, but I make several  twice with an other color combination..

I just finishes this. So it's now a blanket!

In the future I hope to make a border round the blanket

Something floral!

I have been hooking, but not working on my official Flower Bed project.  I got waylaid by the Japanese Flower Motif – amongst other things (!)  I've almost made three scarves!

Here is the first one I've actually finished (blocked and woven in the ends). I used Noro sock yarn and utilised the very long colour runs to expedite the most pleasing 

arrangement.

I also felt so guilty about breach of copywrite I bought the book.  Which I don't regret for one moment: loads of things I have to make - and immediately!

 This is my daughter with my new shawl......

And this is me ...hair completely gone now...but I show you not the picture without my hair because I just like a skinhead then....-)

Tadaaaaahhhhhhh I feel good today

I feel good today ..and  bald .. my hair is gone, not that I had a lush head of hair but still gives a 'weird' feeling .... now I'm 'solidarity' with my other half who always walks around with that  ....  ... I walk around.. but I will keep it quiet and this morning I even did a little bit of crochet  .... again a bit .... and enjoy the sunshine that occasionally shows up ...

Day 10......

Yesterday taking  blood .. day 10 is the day that the white blood cells are at their lowest after the cure .. idd  all blood values ​​were too low (such as the oncologist said, "Taxotere chemotherapy in combination with cyclophosphamide strike without mercy) there is somewhere a little infection and I had some increase (at 38 ° is the record) ... so the only thing I can do is ...... NOTHING ... just relax, not work ... when I get chemo next an additional injection so that the blood levels so low will not come ... so I'll do anything ... I walk from my bed to the bathroom ... and again ... then walk through our garden and wood and back ... ... I do a little washing up .. and I walk to my bed ... I do naps, and I read a little and do not feel to crochet ?!... dipperiode lasts until day 15 and then again which should improve all ... but .. at day 15 my hair will fall out (how can they calculate it all?) but I'm going one step ahead and on day 13, we have the clippers ... I want  no tufts of hair everywhere in the house of my own encounter ... soooo done enough for today ... this lady goes back to take a nap :-)

Japanese Flower Scarf

Hello Lovely Ladies,

I just finished making a Japanese flower scarf for my mom. My original thoughts were to make the scarf two rows wide, but after receiving feedback from other crocheters, I went with the one row and was very glad I did. The flowers are quite big and two rows would have been too thick for this scarf.


  After laying the scarf out like this, I noticed the dark rose colored flowers match up, and I did not want that to happen! Better planning next time. When I tried the scarf on, the dark rose color looked like the predominant color, which was not the look I was going for. I wanted a variety of colors to show.

I decided one more flower needed to be added

 I added another flower with light pink petals and made the scarf 12 flowers long. The scarf is longer than needed but usually my mom doubles it up by folding it in half.

I will be sending it off to my mom shortly. Hopefully she does not have to use it anytime soon!

• I used a Boye H hook, 5.00MM
