The orange sample was done on a 5mm hook and I used a DK and a strand of sock wool...chunkier yarn and smaller hook than the red sample that was done with a DK and 5.5mm hook

Round 1: 8dc with 2ch between sl st to complete
Round 2 sc in space, 3 ch between, sl st, to complete round
Round 3: change colour 4 dc in eachch loop with 2ch, between each, sl st to complete round
Round 4: start in any space, 2dc 2ch 2dc, ch4, 2sc in next space, ch4, repeat 3 more times, sl st to complete round. (4 corners, 4 sides)
Round 5 1dc,ch2,1dc in corner space, 1dc in next 2 sts, 3dc in next ch space, 1dc in next 2 sts, 3dc in next ch space, 1dc in next 2 sts, repeat 3 more times, sl st to complete round.
